help2read, a child literacy organisation, provides literacy support in over 100 schools in South Africa with the help of a large group of enthusiastic adult volunteers. They follow a simple model whereby volunteers are recruited, trained and placed in schools where reading support is needed for disadvantaged primary school learners. help2read was established in Cape Town in 2006, and have assisted over 6000 children with their reading programme so far. |
Safe House Stellenbosch

Safe House Stellenbosch provides care, shelter, protection and counselling for women and children in the greater Stellenbosch region who have suffered physical and emotional abuse, rape and other traumas related to domestic violence and sexual exploitation. They need funds to build more rooms for the Safe House in order to accommodate more residents. |
